Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on 10 July 1980, is an American singer-actress, actress, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Simpson at 17 years old, began her career in church choirs. She signed with Columbia Records in 1997. Sweet Kisses, her first album as a studio artist, came out in 1999. The album sold two million copies across the United States. She also was a commercial hit of the hit single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson's sophomore studio album, Irresistible was a more mature release. The album's title track was Simpson's second-highest charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified the album as gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It was a huge success, selling three million copies across America. Simpson was famous for her relationship with Nick Lachey and her wedding to Nick Lachey. Simpson also appeared on the reality television show on MTV, Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica, between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's debut Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and it was certified gold. The actress made her debut in the film The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. The film's soundtrack also featured an original song called "These Boots Are Made For Walking". The singer released her fifth album, A Public Affair, in 2006, and was also featured in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson made her debut in country music through the release of Do You Know (2008) the sixth studio album. Simpson created The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a clothing-focused line featuring 34 product categories. The company is among the most profitable ever licensed by a celebrity with more than $1 billion in sales to date. Simpson was also on the reality-TV show The Price of Beauty in 2010. She also judged the fashions for two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
